Easy as 1-2-3
Whether you’ve outgrown your old bank or it has outgrown you, we make transferring to FNBD a breeze!
1: Open a FNBD checking account
Open a checking account using our online request or at one of our branches.
2: Start using your new checking account
Once your FNBD account is active, begin using it and stop using your old checking account. But please allow enough time for outstanding checks, debit card purchases and automatic payments to clear before closing that account. (Typically, 30 business days are sufficient.)
3: Transfer direct deposits and automatic payments to FNBD
Use these switch kit forms to easily transfer any payments (such as car payments, monthly insurance premiums, etc.) that are automatically deducted from your old account to your new FNBD account:
- Social Security deposit form
- Payroll/direct deposit form
- Automatic payments form
Once automatic deposits and deductions are tied to your FNBD checking account, contact your former financial institution to close your account(s).
- Close account form
If you have any questions along the way, please contact us, and we’ll be happy to help!
